DCMS was started in the year 1984 (with an intake of 100 M.B; B.S. seats) by the Late Aljhaj Sultan Salahuddin Owaisi.
Deccan College of Medical Sciences (DCMS) is one of the oldest and most sought-after medical colleges in the state of Telangana. With its modern infrastructures, state equipment, and highly qualified and motivated teachers, the college produces 150 high-quality diplomacies each year.

Residential Accommodation
In addition to accommodation, other accommodation facilities provided are internet, television for hostler entertainment and more than sufficient furniture provided to hostlers. Two separate visiting rooms are provided for the boys and the amp respectively; Girls' homes. It has Standby Generator, 24 Hours cover for Boys and Girls Hostels.
Library
The College has a modern Central Library housing over 30,000 volumes. Its digital library has access to hundreds of full-text journals online. The Journal of Medical Sciences and Allies, an indexed printing magazine (and online), is published by the College. The library is housed in two big halls, on the Right Wing of the III floor of the Owaisi Hospital & Research Centre's building. The library is well equipped with adequate Books, Journals, audio & visual aids and the online facility is also provided for the Undergraduate students, PG Students, and Faculty.
Sports
In our college regular practice facilities for students, Table Tennis, Caroms, Chess, Badminton, Basket Ball, Volley Ball, Foot Ball, and Track and field events. Separate practice facilities for girls in Table Tennis, Caroms, and chess.
DCMS medical students have regularly won the Indian Council of medical research and have won awards at OSMICON, a conference for talented medical students.
A Research Centre for liver diseases has also been established in this college. The continuing of Medical Education Unit at the Deccan College of Medial Sciences recognizes its responsibility to promote lifelong learning through the provision of well-designed educational experiences for physicians, others involved in health care delivery, and benefit the community at large.
Deccan College of Medical Sciences is established by a Muslim Minority Trust i.e., Dar-Us-Salam Educational Trust which is constituted to promote the education and welfare of weaker sections of Muslims. Primarily benefits of this college go to the Muslim Minority, no profit is involved in running the college.
