In 1973, the Department of Business Economics, under the prestigious University of Delhi, pioneered a Masters's Program in Business Economics, combining the fundamentals of economic analysis with the practical aspects of the business world. The new course has been developed with the objective to equip students with academic knowledge and with the proficient application of this knowledge through the means of appropriate tools.

Delhi University & All India Postgraduate scholarship Rs. 400 per month sanctioned on the basis of the recommendations of the Selection Committee appointed by the Academic Council.His Holiness the Pope Scholarship: INR 150 per month for one year which may be extended on the basis of the academic performance of the student.
DBE DU conducted its 2020 placement drive in which recruiters from various domains participated. The highest number of placement offers were made from the IT domain followed by BFSI. 36% of recruiters included Fortune 500 Companies. Here are the highlights:18.76% of PPOs were offered to students during the placement drive. The highest salary offered was INR 21.5 LPA while the median package stood at INR 10.5 LPA. The average Package stood at INR 11.97 LPA. The top 15 % got an average salary of INR 17.26 LPA, the top 25 % achieved INR 16.76 LPA and the top 50% got an average package of INR 15.40 LPA. Bira, PwC, Deloitte, WNS, EY, RBS, KPMG, HSBC, Lava, ICICI Bank, EXL, Barclays, Bank of America, etc were the major recruiters at DBE.
