The Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management (DTHM) was established in Jamia Millia Islamia in the year 2012. DTHM, Jamia is devoted to excellence in tourism and hospitality education, consultancy, and research. DTHM has always experimented with innovative involvement. Since Governments at central and State levels are recognizing tourism and hospitality as priority fields for economic development, it becomes imperative that DTHM reaches out to a variety of audiences that are directly and indirectly influenced by tourism and hospitality activities. The department offers a variety of tourism and hospitality programs ranging from the first year of graduation (Level 1) to a Ph.D. (Level 07).

Facilities and Infrastructure:

The library is an air-conditioned library with a collection of 3.70 lakh books. It has a reading hall with a seating capacity of 1275 users. The Digital Resource Centre facilitates access to e-Journals and other in-house digitized e-resources. Learning Centre for Differently Abled provides support to visually impaired students through assistive technology. A federated search tool, Knimbus, is available to search journal articles in multiple databases.

Hostel:

There are seven Boys' hostels accommodating about 1200 students. Admission to the hostels is exclusively on the basis of merit as per admission criteria for the course in which he is admitted at the time of his admission to the hostel. Hostels are equipped with a mess, dining halls, Gymnasium, and wifi facility. Begum Hazrat Mahal Girls’ Hostel is equipped with a Dining Hall, laundry areas, bathrooms with solar heaters, Reading Hall, Common Room with a T.V, a Gymnasium, Canteen/Tuck shop, a Beauty parlor, and a splendid stage providing the resident's space for practice and performances. Sports Complex:

Sports facilities, such as Shooting, Swimming, Wrestling, and Boxing which are not available at Jamia University are provided to qualified sportspersons at sports stadiums outside Jamia Milia Islamia.

Placement:

According to media reports, more than 350 students were placed during Jamia Millia Islamia phase 1 placement in 2023. Further, the highest package offered to BTech and MBA students during JMI placements in 2023 was between INR 20 LPA and INR 25 LPA. A total of five international companies offered packages between INR 20 LPA and INR 25 LPA to JMI MBA and BTech students. Apart from this, 45 companies recruited the most no. of students during Jamia Millia Islamia placements in 2023. The top recruiters of Jamia Millia Islamia in 2023 included companies such as KPMG, Accenture, and DLF.
