Devchand College was established in 1960 under the name ‘Janata College’ by the Janata Shikshan Mandal, Arjunnagar. The college was renamed in 1967 as ‘Devchand College’ in recognition of the great contribution made by its founder President late Padmabhushan Devchandji Shah. The college is offering 15 academic programs.

The college campus is spread over 45 acres of land in a rural area bordering Karnataka and Maharashtra states, with part of the campus within the Karnataka state and the remaining major areas in the state of Maharashtra. It is affiliated with Shivaji University and accredited by NAAC with B Grade and is recognized by UGC for aid under 2f and 12B.

With this scenario in view, the Suvarn Library of Devchand College has improved its services and products to contribute to knowledge culture. The library is well-known in the locality for its rich collection of resources.
Computer Labs:The college has 4 Computer Labs. 3 Computer labs have 4 Server Computers with a total of 120 node computers connected to them. Each Server Computer is equipped with Intel Xeon (R) 3.10GHz, 1TB HDD, and 16GB RAM. This makes it easier for students to operate them and share data easily by wired LAN connection available in Labs & take the prints using the Printer available in Lab. The 4th Computer Lab has a total of 24 Computers with separate CPUs with high-end configurations like the latest processors like Core i3, Core i5, and Core to Duo with 4GB & 2GB RAM that supports 1TB & 500GB HDD. The labs also have an LCD Projector facility which helps in effective teaching and also in organizing PowerPoint presentations, video lectures, and demonstration of digital components available in the Lab. The college computer lab has also one video conference room equipped with Logitech Webcam which is used for live video chat as well as for video discussions.
Language Lab:The Department of English is equipped with a language laboratory where students learn standard English pronunciation. It is a ten-booth facility with a monitor chamber. It has got ACEN.5 software for recording and listening. Learner manual with audio lessons prepared by experts in the field provides exposure to standard GIE alongside RP. The lab is a great boon to enhance the English pronunciation skills of students.
Gymkhana:Physical education must be an integral part of the educational system. It is a well-known fact that a sound mind resides in a sound body. One of the missions of the institution is to make efforts to maintain and develop the physical and mental health of students. These are basic to general well-being as well as success in life. Devchand College endeavors to achieve the same through Yoga, physical training, and sports.
