Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan College of Engineering and Technology is an emerging institution of excellence for engineering education located on the East Coast Road in the historic city of Mamallapuram. The college is run by the Srinivasan Charitable and Educational Trust, which has been active in the field of education for more than 25 years. The college is approved by AICTE, New Delhi and affiliated with the largest technical university, Anna University, Chennai, and is reaccredited by the NAAC with a “B++” Grade.

The college is approved by the AICTE, New Delhi, and is affiliated with the largest Technical University, Anna University, Chennai, and Accreditated by NAAC with a "B++" Grade.
In 2001, the College began with three Undergraduate Engineering programs with an annual intake of 150 students and now has 12 Undergraduate and six Postgraduate programs with an annual intake of 1032 students. The AICTE's clearance and affiliation with Anna University for such a progressive intake is a testament to the college's consistent growth over the years.
Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan College of Engineering and Technology, Chennai is affiliated with Anna University, approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), and Accredited with a "B++" grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
The DSCET campus has a beautiful and serene atmosphere ideally suited for technical education. The infrastructure and facilities available on campus are amongst the very best. It is a wholly self-contained campus comprising everything that students on campus would ever require. DSCET provides a full-fledged and marvelous infrastructure. All the required Drawing Halls, Class Rooms, Laboratories, Engineering workshops, English Language Communication Skills labs, Library, Computer Center, Internet labs, Seminar Halls, Smart class Rooms, and Faculty Rooms are housed in a total building space of 3,10,000 sqft. OHPs/LCD projectors are established for all the classrooms to assure an effective teaching-learning process.
Residential Accommodations:Exclusively, one block is provided for men, accommodating more than 650 students. The boy's hostel has a separate library, reading room, and shuttle courts to facilitate the students. The college has a separate hostel for women to accommodate more than 400 students are provided. The girl's hostel has Shuttle courts, Table tennis to facilitate the students.
Library:Our Institution has a well-established Air Conditioned Central Library with having rich collection of books, online books, print Journals, online journals, and back-volume journals. It has departmental libraries in all the departments, thus catering to the needs of Undergraduate, Post Graduate students, and faculty. All Library services like acquisition, cataloging, issue, return, renewal; catalog search (On–Line Public Access Catalogue) have been fully computerized with help of a bar-code facility. A good Digital Library has been established in the Central Library premises with effective e-Learning materials, e-Databases, e-journals, e-books, etc. It can be accessed from anywhere on campus for 24 hours. The Library is an active member of the reputed organizational body DELNET.
Each Department of the college is equipped with a departmental Library for specializing in their area with an extensive level of knowledge boost in the field of concern of staff and students. There is a separate BOOK BANK Section in the Library for the financially weaker sections of the students. The books are classified according to DDC.
Gymnasium:We have a well-equipped power gym and hydraulic gym with the latest multiple machines. These gyms could accommodate 40 Students per session. Each session will be engaged by experienced trainers. The gym schedule is as follows.
Health Centre:A well-equipped dispensary functions on the campus during working hours. Students who need medical aid can get it instantly as we have a part-time doctor on our campus and MOU Signed with Chettinadu Health City, Kelambakkam located a distance of 20 km.
Wifi-Enabled Campus:In recognition of the need and importance of the Internet in the field of education, our whole campus is well connected through wired as well as wireless networks. Students can have access to the internet at 70 Mbps through high-speed broadband cable.
The coverage of Wi-Fi is not only restricted to classrooms but also extends to all areas including Library, Auditorium, and hostels. In the first instance, students access the internet for their computer course-related needs and in the second one they are expected to surf the internet for online educational inputs related to their academic courses of study.
Sports:Students are encouraged to participate in various zonal and inter-zonal tournaments; they are paid daily allowances and traveling expenses. Students are provided with various sports kits and equipment. They participate in inter-collegiate and inter University matches. Sports week is celebrated every week with various sports events like Long Jump, Volleyball, Table Tennis, Cricket, Chess, and Carom, etc.
Cafe/Mess Facility:A huge dining hall, kitchen, ice cream parlor, Stationeries, and other facilities are provided to students and staff. The canteen accommodates about 600 students at a time. Food is prepared hygienically. Separate seating arrangements are made for girls and boys, based well on eating preference i.e., vegetarians and nonvegetarians.
Water Plant:Water points are available at appropriate places in and around the campus to quench the thirst of the students. “Water, the elixir of Life” is purified using the reverse osmosis method, and supplied hygienically. This, in turn, will protect the students from health hazards and help them to lead healthy lives.
Our Skill Enhancement & Pre-placement training helps the students to make them ‘Plug & Play’ in industry areas of Technical knowledge. Training is given from 1st year onwards and the trainers are brought from various sectors to make the students active. The following training programs are offered to improve employability skills.
Internships provide opportunities for students to gain experience in their discipline, determine if they have an interest in a particular career, and create a network of contacts. And here at DSCET, Internships are given due importance and also included as part of the curriculum for pre-final year students. Every B.Tech/B.E, MBA & MCA student is required to undergo Industrial training as approved by the Department. The training must take place continuously for a minimum of four to six weeks. DSCET has consistently been a destination of choice for leading firms that offer summer internships. Students take up internships in various sectors such as Core, Consulting, Finance, FMCG, Analytics, IT, NGO, and Government Institutions apart from the research internships taken up in various Indian and foreign universities. The such industrial activity provides students with adequate exposure to tackling real-life problems encountered in the working of an industrial entity. The companies also gain from the fresh perspective and inputs of the students and also bettering their profile among the general student community.
