Dharmsinh Desai University (DDU), located at Nadiad, is one of the leading institutions of learning in Gujarat. Since inception in 1968 as an institute for higher education in technology and engineering by the then Member of Parliament, Shri Dharmsinh Dadubhai Desai, it is committed to grooming students for leadership roles in the society.
Dharmsinh Desai University entered the educational sector in 1968. It was founded as a state-run university. Dharmsinh Desai University was previously named Dharmsinh Desai Institute of Technology (DDIT). In the end, both Union Grants Commission & the All India Council of Technical Education definitely endorsed the school. In addition being approved by the UGC recognized the institution as an institution of higher learning. So, Dharmsinh Desai University makes sure that it follows UGC standards and is granted recognition.
The Dharmsinh Desai University Chancellor Kushal Desai has the responsibility to manage the institution. The area of the campus is 42 acres.

DDU has been ranked within the Band of 101-150 according to NIRF(National Instituteal Rating Framework) in 2020. Dr. H. M. Desai, the beloved Vice-Chancellor at the university Dr. H. M.Desai, has also been conferred the Padma Shri by the President of India.

Every year , 4 students get given the sum of Rs. 25000 based on merit and merit cum mean the basis for DDU. If the student meets the minimum requirements, students will continue to receive the award for up to four years.
"DDU Alumni Association Scholarship Fund" has been set up to allow any person or group that wants to help students in need financially could apply. To date, many former students of the have come forward to help with "Vidya Dan". Anyone who is willing to help could draw a DD in support of DDU Alumni Association.
The admission to B.Tech is granted on the basis of a qualifying examination and JEE Mains exam or the GUJCET.
For the M.Tech discipline, a valid GATE score is necessary and a minimum of 55% in the relevant Engineering/Technology at UG level.
To be eligible for admission for admission to BBA and BCA the candidate must have passed the HSC test or 10+2 from an accredited board.
In order to be considered for MBBS, B.Pharma & BDS applicants must have passed 10+2 in the relevant stream of an approved board.
The application forms are released once the official notification has been issued typically in February for PG-level programmes and in the month of June to apply for Ph.D. programs.
The selection process involves evaluation of the academic record of the candidate and the results of the applicant on the university's entrance test.
