Dodla Kousalyamma Govt. Degree College is a renowned school. It's not just famous in Nellore town, but across many districts in our state. The college was formally opened on February 7, 1965. But it started on June 27, 1964. Many Nellore citizens started it under the leadership of Sri Dodla Subba Reddy. He gave 3 lakh rupees to build the college on 24.59 acres of land. Since then, the college has added many new buildings and rooms. There are now 94 rooms, including 35 classrooms and 17 labs. The college also has a large library with nearly 35,000 books.
