Dera Natung Government College was established in the year 1979 with its erstwhile name ‘Government College, Itanagar’.
The founders had an ambitious endeavour not merely to make it a centre of offering Degrees but also to let the youths explore new areas of knowledge, providing a platform for budding leaders in all walks of life, preparing them for future challenges in personal and social spheres and grooming them as competent human resources who in turn could promote the high social ideals such as equality, social justice, communal harmony and cultural plurality.

Residential Accommodation
Separate boys' and girls' hostels with high security are available on the university campus. Boys and girls have two hostels with Wi-Fi services for UG and PG, which can accommodate about 150 students each with good infrastructure. A well-equipped gym is established so that the students of the inn develop the physical ability of boys and girls. They also have indoor play facilities. A hygienic mess is attached to the hostels. The Library
The treasury of books and periodicals - is the centre of intellectual activity in any institution. The Central Library works for its readers with a concern for creativity and innovation, predecessors of Research and Development. It has a well-equipped library that accumulates over 10,000 volumes of selected books in various engineering, management, and basic, and general science subjects.
Medical Services and Health Center
Dera Natung Government College, Itanagar knows that physical health is more important for students to concentrate well on their studies. The College pays particular attention to the health of students. Our college has a health centre with all the facilities on the campus and also an experienced doctor who takes care of this health centre. The medical service vehicle is always ready on site 24 hours a day.
Canteen
It provides good quality fresh Snacks, cool drinks, coffee, tea, and other food items in a hygienic, healthy way which suits the pockets of the student. It is speckless and maintained very well.
Sport
Physical education is strongly aimed at improving the physical and mental health of the individual player. This results in the development of dynamic personalities. Sports activities and achievements have helped many people get better job opportunities. The clean area with the natural gift of fresh air is an inspiring resource, which motivates the player to perform better. Sports carry the same weight as academics. All sports activities are encouraged by making all facilities available when students participate in intercollegiate, intra-college, and other tournaments.
