DPBS College was established in 1965 by the Anglo Vedic Educational Association (AVEA), Anoopshahr to keep the memories of the late Shri Durga Prasad Ji, a great social activist, and educationist, alive and to promote higher education in backward area. Till 1983 the college was offering only a BSc degrees at the undergraduate level. In 1984 the building was constructed and donated to the college by Jaiprakash Seva Sansthan for the Arts faculty. This contribution was acknowledged by then Management by adding the name of Shri Baljeet Singh, the father of Shri Jaiprakash Gaur to the institution. Since then the institution is known as Durga Prasad Baljeet Singh College. PG classes were started in Physics and Sanskrit subjects in 1992, BCA in 2001, MSc (Chemistry), in 2001, BEd (2002), and BCom (2005).
