The objectives of the University are to promote and develop the Urdu language; to impart education and training in vocational and technical subjects through the medium of Urdu; to provide wider access to people desirous of pursuing programmes of higher education and training in the Urdu medium through teaching on the campus as well as at a distance and to provide a focus on women's education.
Dr. Abdul Haq Urdu University is a state public college hooked up through the Government of Andhra Pradesh below A.P. State Legislature Act - 2016 placed in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh, India. The college is known after Dr. Abdul Haq, a famend educationist, and philanthropist of Rayalaseema who's the founding father of Osmania College, Kurnool.

Education through mother tongue as the medium of instruction helps the student in comprehending the subject in depth with ease, and at the same time, it creates a spontaneous flair for exploring it further. The reason is that mother tongue plays a vital role in understanding the world around us in its correct perspective. However, to expand our knowledge in future, we need expertise in English which is now a global language.
