Dr. J J Magdum College of Engineering was established by Dr. J J Magdum Trust, Jaysingpur in the year 1992 with an objective to promote the cause of higher education. The institute is approved by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, and the Government of Maharashtra, affiliated with Shivaji University, Kolhapur. The college offers a B. Tech program in Mechanical, Civil, Computer Science Engineering, Electronics & Tele-Communication, and Information Technology, and an M. Tech program in Civil Engineering-Construction Management.

Facilities and Infrastructure

The Institute has a well-developed Central Computing Center. The Central Computing facility is maintained to fulfill the general computing needs of both, students and teachers. The institution recognizes the key role IT plays in teaching, learning, and research. Therefore, Central Computing Center is committed to providing computing facilities of the highest standards. It consists of all licensed software and allied equipment, which makes it a resourceful node of service. The current range of software available in the labs is including Microsoft Office Pack, Microsoft Visual Studio, J2EE, MATLAB, etc. Leased line connections provide unlimited internet usage facility at the speed of 100 Mbps. The center has developed software computerizing all major processes and services like admission, library, student attendance records, Feedback Systems, etc.

Library:

The institute has made available 44560 volumes and 1561-bound volumes of National and International journals. In addition, Central Library has subscribed to 59 journals and periodicals which are available in the form of hard copies. Central Library also has an online electronic subscription that provides access to published papers of ASCE, ASME, and IEL (IEEE) which can help in literature surveys in connection with research work.

Wifi

The Institute has had a Wi-Fi facility from the academic year 2010-2011. Initially, the bandwidth of the Wi-Fi facility was 20Mbps.In the academic year 2013-2014, on 20th May 2014 bandwidth was increased to 40Mbps.In the academic year, 2014-15 Wi-Fi bandwidth was increased to 100Mbps. From the academic year, 2014-2015 to date bandwidth of Wi-Fi is 100Mbps. A total of 17 access points are installed on a college campus for better connectivity. Institute has had a Cyberrom internet facility from the academic year 2010-2011. Cyberrom internet facility provides separate user accounts for each student and faculty member of the Institute. Cyberrom internet facility is renewed every year. The Internet billing cycle is quarterly for each year. Institute continuously taking efforts to update its IT facilities including Wi-Fi for the betterment of the students and faculty members.

Admission

B.E. Admission 2023

Dr. J.J. Magdum College of Engineering offers B.E. in 6 different disciplines. The candidates seeking admission in B.E. must have passed 10+2 in PCM with a minimum of 45% marks from any recognized Board in India.

The selection of the candidates is based on JEE Main/ MHT CET score and personal interviews.

M.E. Admission 2023

Dr. JJMCOE offers M.E. in 3 specializations. The criteria to take admission is to have a B.E/B.Tech degree with 50% marks from any recognized university/ institution.

The selection of candidates in M.E. is based on valid GATE scores, Group discussions,s, and personal interviews.

Application Process 2023

The candidates seeking admission to Dr. J.J. Magdum College of Engineering must appear for MHTCET/ JEE-MAINS/ GATE by registering themselves on the respective official websites. Admission to B.E. and M.E. is based on the score of the entrance exams.
