Lord Mayo, The Viceroy and Governor General, had been repeatedly trying to get through his proposal for setting up a directorate general of Agriculture that would take care of the soil and its productivity, formulate newer techniques of cultivation, improve the quality of seeds and livestock and also arrange for imparting agricultural education. The government of India had invited a British expert. Dr. J. A. Voelcker who had submitted as report on the development of Indian agriculture. As a follow-up action, three experts in different fields were appointed for the first time during 1885 to 1895 namely, agricultural chemist (Dr. J. W. Leafer), cryptogamic botanist (Dr. R. A. Butler) and entomologist (Dr. H. Maxwell Lefroy) with headquarters at Dehradun (U.P.) in the forest Research Institute complex.
Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University, formerly Rajendra Agricultural University, is a public power university of agriculture and is recognized as an institute of national importance by the government of India. It is located in Pusa, Samastipur district of Bihar.

Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University provides an Eco-friendly and aesthetic environment for teaching and learning. The university infrastructure includes classrooms, laboratories, a library, a 500-bed hospital, offices for Faculties, Seminar Halls, Conference Halls, an Auditorium, and infrastructure for Sports & Extra Curricular activities, etc. All the classrooms are spacious, well illuminated, and equipped with state-of-the-art multimedia teaching aids. The whole campus is WI-Fi enabled. The university has developed a first-class library fully air-conditioned with an internet connection for students and equipped with national and international journals.
Residential Accommodation
The University has three bedrooms, two bedrooms, one bedroom, and studios for teaching as well Non-Teaching Staff along with all other amenities and complex providing facilities for Grocery, Cafeteria, and Fruit & vegetables, etc. to meet their daily needs In the residential campus, facilities for teaching and non-teaching staff help in the development and interactive friendly environment, meeting people from all over the country and thus broadening the cultural, academic and social aspects.
Library
The University Library provided services to students, teachers & amp; researchers and supports the teaching, research, and study of the University with a collection of over 70,000 items, a rich collection of current and past volumes of research journals, including advances and annual reviews, and databases on CD-ROM. The library has set up a student-run reading room for student use after library hours. The library is well connected to the INTERNET for access to resources.
Medical Facilities
The University provides health facilities for students by providing first aid and other basic services separate facilities and facilities when needed Doctors are available on call whenever the need arises. The medical facility is also extended for sporting events and matches such as volleyball, cricket, table tennis, etc. In addition, during university outings, an emergency room is available to students.
Canteen
University has canteen is spread over 100 sq.m and can accommodate about 4050 students at a time. It can accommodate approximately 1500 students with freshly prepared meals, snacks, and ready-to-cook meals at very affordable prices. Its hygiene conditions and the quality of its food are regularly checked by the canteen committee that composes it. student council members and teaching and non-teaching teachers. An extension of this canteen to the open space behind it with umbrellas was recently built to accommodate the growing force of students. In order to add variety to the drinks and snacks available in the canteen, an on-campus cafeteria for students has recently been launched. The canteen committee is working to improve the existing infrastructure and associated services to respond to the growth of the college.
Students studying at this University can take advantage of excellent placement opportunities. Several companies visit the campus to conduct placement units. Students can get internships in these companies without going through interviews. The highest and average package offered at Sri Balaji University internships in 2022 was INR 19.27 LPA and INR 7.26 LPA, respectively.
