Dr. Sivanthi Aditanar College of Engineering was established in 1995 with the principal objective of bringing quality education within the reach of the weaker sections, particularly in rural areas. The college has been established with the aim of imparting professional & technical education with an emphasis on building analytical and reasoning abilities as well as practical skills.

The objective of the college is to inculcate in every student a sense of responsibility towards society and respect for human life besides developing in them the highest standards of professional behavior & personal integrity. The college adopts a 3D policy which is “Discipline, Duty & Development”.

Facilities and Infrastructure

The Library is located in the Administrative block of the college with two floors. The ground floor contains the lending section and e-journal section and the reference section and journal section are on the First floor. It is well equipped with 40,973 Books, 630 E-Journals and 90 national journals, and 3 News Papers. For the effective Teaching learning process, the library is maintaining a special section that is incorporated with Educational CDs and DVDs in the fields of Engineering, Management and Science, and Humanities. The library provides newspapers to the students in order to update the day-to-day news.

A world-class cafeteria with ultra-modern ambiance, having modern working ranges/types of equipment, to serve a total strength of 200 students at a time. It also has an exclusive mezzanine floor to host dinners/get-togethers etc. It is located in an easily accessible area. Variety of refreshments and meals available at the college canteen at affordable rates. Adequate seating facilities are provided to accommodate students and staff even during peak times. It tends to be the most popular place on campus, not only for refreshments but also for student bonding, discussions, and even work on assignments and projects.

The college has a fleet of 18 buses to transport students and staff from various parts of the city and its neighboring areas to the college and back home. A transport facility is arranged for every student. Every student is expected to avail of the transport facility to enable him/her to be punctual to the college. The college has a well-furnished auditorium, located in the CSE block. It has a seating capacity of 400 audiences. The auditorium is used for activities such as seminars, guest lectures, cultural activities, important functions and meetings of students and faculties, department functions, and other events. The auditoriums are equipped with the latest public addressing, LCD projectors, and comfortable seats.

The college has 2 Seminar halls. The seminar hall is facilitated with the latest technology and is well–equipped with multimedia projectors which provide a special ambiance for every event. It makes possible an ideal setting for carrying out various conferences and delivering lectures. Each has a seating capacity of 100 people.

Training and Placement Cell

Training and Placement Cell aims at building a strong interface between industry and the college for the training and placement of students. The Training & Placement Cell is functioning actively in providing training, Mock interviews, Mock group discussions, Placement and Career development opportunities and also rendering valuable services to the students under the guidance of experienced staff.
