A Unit of Dr. T.M.A. Pai Foundation, Manipal Established in 1985, Dr. T.M.A. Pai Polytechnic Manipal has developed into one of the best polytechnic colleges in India. Part of the renowned academic township of Manipal, Dr. T.M.A. Pai Polytechnic is closely associated with some of the most reputed colleges in the country. Dr. T.M.A Pai Polytechnic was established in 1985 to cater to the youth around Manipal-Udupi who faced difficulties to continue their education after 10th standard due to various reasons. The Polytechnic was started to provide career opportunities to these young people. The Polytechnic is named after the great son of Udupi District Dr. T. M .A. Pai (1898-1979), Physician, Banker, Educationist and the “Maker of Modern Manipal”. The Polytechnic is managed and run by Dr. T.M.A. Pai Foundation, Manipal. The unique experiment of starting an educational institution on a cooperative basis was the brainchild of Dr. T.M.A. Pai. As technical and vocational education was close to the heart of Dr. T.M.A. Pai, the Polytechnic has been named after him to perpetuate his memory. This Polytechnic is recognized and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi (AICTE) and affiliated to the Board of Technical Education Bangalore. To accommodate its ambitious growth initiatives in its silver jubilee year the Polytechnic has moved operations to a new three-storey building consisting of 3 blocks measuring 1,08,600 sq. ft. in addition to a workshop area measuring 92000 sq. ft.

Presently, more than 10,000 volumes of technical books, apart from textbooks, technical journals, technical magazines, and monthly/fortnightly magazines are provided for the use of staff and students to update and be conversant with the present state of technical knowledge. Book Bank facility is available in our library for the use of students. At present, we have 1000 volumes of technical books in the book bank section. Books are added onto this Book Bank every year to provide sufficient availability of books for the students of all semesters.

Gym:

The college has a Gym facility for the students. There is a full-fledged modern Gymnasium facility in the Indoor Sports Complex. Also, additional facilities like canteen and internet hub are available to keep the students on the campus during leisure hours.

Girls Hostel:

The college has a girl's hostel facility which provides good hostel accommodation for the students.  The college has provided a hostel facility for the students, in the view of providing a secure atmosphere. The nearest Railway station is Udupi with a distance of 4 kilometers and the nearest airport is Bajpe-Mangalore with a distance of 65 kilometers. This Institution has successfully completed 25 years in providing Technical Education in Automobile, Civil, Computer Science, Electronics & Communication Engineering and Printing Technology.

Scholarships:

Manipal University has come up with the new scheme called “Scho|arship for Academy of General Education Students (SAGES)” to provide scholarships, and our students who wish to join Manipal Institute of Technology, for lateral entry to B.E. courses, are eligible to avail this scholarship as per their norms. Placement:

Training and Placement Cell is an integral part of the Institute. The Institute has provided complete infrastructure for the effective functioning of the cell. Training activities are organized throughout the year in an effort towards preparing the prospective students for the campus selection programs. It molds the diploma grads to join corporates. The cell is sensitized to function all throughout the year towards generating placement and training opportunities for the students. The cell acts as a link for the industrial training and placement of students.
