Named in honor of Satya Nand Stokes, the visionary behind the introduction of diverse apple varieties in Himachal Pradesh, the university library is housed in a well-ventilated structure conducive to studying.  Presently, Dr. Y.S. Parmar University library's collection comprises 42,769 books covering horticulture, forestry, and allied sciences, along with subscriptions to 116 scientific journals. 

Since July 27, 2008, students and faculty have had access to over 2,000 electronic journals through CERA (Consortium for e-Resources in Agriculture). The library also possesses essential CD-ROM databases like AGRIS, HORT-CD, TREE-CD, CAB-CD, Encyclopedia Britannica, and McGraw-Hill Multimedia Encyclopedia of Science & Technology. 

Labs:

Dr. Y.S. Parmar University features well-equipped laboratories and state-of-the-art rooms with advanced tools and teaching aids. Separate laboratories cater to undergraduate practicals and postgraduate research. As a farm university, it maintains an extensive experimental area of approximately 550 hectares on the main campus, supplemented by 202 hectares at Regional Horticultural Research & Training Stations and Krishi Vigyan Kendra's (KVK).  These facilities include playhouses, glass houses, mist chambers, sprinklers/drip irrigation systems, precision farming, organic gardens, and demonstration areas, serving as effective tools for experiential learning. 

Medical Facilities:

Dr. Y.S. Parmar University Health Centre, located at the main campus, is staffed with one Senior Medical Officer, one Medical Officer, pharmacists, a laboratory technician, and a staff nurse.  The center offers round-the-clock medical services to students, staff, campus residents, and nearby villagers. Equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic devices, the center is complemented by the Zonal Hospital in Solan, 14 kilometers from the campus, and a 24-hour ambulance service. 

Sports Facilities:

The university boasts a spacious playground accommodating various sports such as cricket, volleyball, hockey, football, kabaddi, and athletics. Regular tournaments are organized at the state and Inter-University levels, with an annual inter-university sports meet. Additionally, a separate court is available for basketball enthusiasts in the student community.
