D. Y. Patil College of Engineering & Technology, Kasaba Bawada, Kolhapur is a self-financing Autonomous Institute established in the year 1984 under the visionary leadership of Padmashree Dr. D. Y. Patil, Former Governor of Tripura, Bihar and West Bengal. UGC, New Delhi, and Shivaji University, Kolhapur conferred Autonomous status to the Institute in 2020. The Institution is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, Government of Maharashtra, and affiliated to Shivaji University, Kolhapur. The Institute is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bangalore with an ‘A’ grade (CGPA- 3.08).

The Institute is offering quality technical education for the past 38 years. The Institute offers eight UG programs and two PG programs. Two departments of this Institution are recognized as research centers by Shivaji University, Kolhapur for promoting research culture in the Institute. The architecture department of the Institute is ranked amongst the top 13 Architecture Colleges in India by Outlook India and ranked 21st by India Today in 2021. Three UG programs viz., B. library wardrobe consists huge quantum of books split between authors, topics, subjects, magazines, and newspapers. An entire silent zone with a mechanized search system is serviced by the librarian who is skilled enough to handle all concerns of students. Overall we have a stock of 47766 books. The library is having Membership with N-LIST, NDL, and DELNET, New Delhi for E-journals, EBooks, Inter-Library loans, Reference facilities, and Document Delivery services. Library issues 50+ book sets under a book bank scheme to SC / ST students (Free sets) every year and provides study room facilities during normal and extended hours.

The college has a health center with a first aid facility for the students.

As many students come from distant places, it is essential for the students to have nutritious food and refreshments at affordable prices so as to participate in daily academic activities actively. The college canteen plays an important role in this regard by catering to the daily nutritional requirements of students and staff members. There is a separate wing for both students and staff.

Our college provides a safe and secure bus facility to pick up and drops off our students at notified times and scheduled stops. We have our own fleet of buses designed as per the government norms and manned by trained and skilled drivers. Buses are also used for student outings like Campus Placement Drives outside the campus, study tours and industrial visits, NSS programs, etc.

Admission

DYPCET offers B.E. degrees under six disciplines for which the annual intake is 240 students. For admission to B.E. courses, the university prepares a merit list of all the eligible candidates who hold a valid JEE Main/ MHT-CET score. For B.Arch admissions applicants must have qualified for Paper 2 of JEE Main. A merit list of the selected candidates will be prepared according to their scores.

Applicants must possess HSC (10+2) with Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry as compulsory subjects and 50% minimum marks. Eligible candidates can apply through the forms available at the portal.

DYPCET offers a Master of Engineering degree in two disciplines which will be based upon the GATE score and will be done through the counseling by Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Maharashtra.

Applicants must hold B.E./ B.Tech degree in the relevant disciplines with 50% aggregate to apply for admission.

Candidates will have to apply for state-level counseling through the official portal of DTE, Maharashtra.

Applicants can apply through both online and offline modes. For the online forms, candidates can fill out the form available at the official website of DTE Maharashtra.

The application fees will be calculated on the basis of candidature type, category, and the person with a disability.

The admission fee for the First year B.E. course is INR 800 for general candidates and for M.E. courses is INR 1000.

For direct admission to second-year engineering courses:

The application fee for general category candidates from outside of Maharashtra state and children of Indian workers in Gulf countries is INR 500.

The application fee for reserved category candidates from Maharashtra state and persons with a disability is INR 400.
