The Empee Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology has come into existence on 5th August 1994. Mr M. P.Purushothaman is the Chairman and Founder of the Empee Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology. He has a versatile personality and is actively involved with several industrial and educational activities. He is the chairman of well known “Empee Group” consisting of Star Hotels, Alcoholic Beverages, Sugar Mills, Chemicals, Distilleries, Power generation etc. He created the Empee Educational and charitable trust with the noble object of establishing educational institutions, particularly professional colleges and technical schools to impart quality education. Mr M.P.Purushothaman is basically a hotelier who is closely associated with many hospitality organizations. He is the past President of the Federation of Hotel and Restaurant Association of India and President of the Tamilnadu Hotel Owners Association. His rich experience contributes to a strong linkage between the institution and the hotel industry which enhance employability and many exciting career opportunities for our students.
