The institute was founded in 1997 with the aim of helping needy students to obtain an engineering degree or degree in various fields. Since the current education system does not meet the wishes of young people with regard to their choice of study, study centers/associations are not allowed to offer distance learning for technical courses either.  However, the engineering training center was named an empaneled training associate or ETA under the University of Arunachal's University-Industry Inter-linkage Center (UILC), established according to a notice from the D.O.  University Scholarships Committee NO.F.1-14/2015 (PPC-II) of 29 September 2015 in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding between University-Industry Interconnection Centre, Arunachal University of Studies, Arunachal Pradesh and ETC Group of Institutions, Thrissur, Kerala.

Engineer's Training Centre is affiliated with the University of Karnataka State Open University and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the Govt. of Kerala. Recognized by University Grants Commission (UGC).

Engineer's Training Centre offers Undergraduate Programs (B.Tech.) in Civil Engineering, Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Diploma in Civil Engineering, Diploma in Electronics Engineering, Diploma in Automobile Engineering, Diploma in Computer Science Engineering (CSE).
