Founded in 1961 by the Rauzathul Uloom Association, Farook Training College is the first minority-run Muslim teacher training college in the state with the aim of promoting education in Malabar by providing quality teacher training to all categories of people and attracting gifted students and promoting teaching, especially among financially and academically disadvantaged students from Muslim minorities and other marginalized social groups.  The college was originally affiliated with Kerala University and was affiliated with Calicut University in 1968.
