Applicants wishing to be considered for admission to the institute's 4-year, full-time B.Tech programme must fulfil the following requirements.
Academic Requirement:
1. Applicants may be admitted if they have passed the Kerala Higher Secondary Examination or have been shown to be equivalent, with 50% of their marks in mathematics alone and 50% of their marks in mathematics, physics, and chemistry combined. Nonetheless, applicants who have earned 60% overall in Physics and Chemistry and 45% in Mathematics separately are also qualified for admission.
2. a) Candidates who fall into the socially and educationally backward classes (as defined by G.O.P. No.208/66/Edn. dt. 2.5.1966 and its amendments) and whose family income does not exceed Rs. 6 lahks annually must receive 45% of the possible points for mathematics separately and 45% of the possible points for physics, chemistry, and mathematics combined. Candidates from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes simply need to pass the qualifying test.
b) Candidates from the Persons with Disabilities (PD) category or from the Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC) who fall within the above-mentioned income threshold and who have earned 40% in mathematics separately and 55% in physics and chemistry together are also eligible for admission.
