Their expert engineers are associated with the Institute for the improvement of the quality of academic inputs to the students by providing technical training and industrial visits. Rayagada is located in southern Odisha with multilinguistic communities, Rayagada adjoins the border of Andhra Pradesh. The place is known for its distinctive features one of which is the river Nagavali, Majhighariani Temple, Laxmi Narayan Temple, and Lord Jagannath Temple making this place more religious. The place is well connected by rail and road.

The Central Library is the heart of the Gandhi Institute of Science & Technology. It is a completely automated library that provides services six days a week, except Sundays and holidays catering information to more than 500 users belonging to 6 departments and centers.
Boasting a rich collection of basic science and humanities and other branches of engineering and management, the library houses more than 15,000 books, 100 projects, and 15 volumes of Journals. and 200 digital books in the form of CDs and DVDs.
The collection of the library is available online through a web-based Public Access Catalogue Creation of different databases collection began in the year 2008.
Residential Halls:The GIST provides state-of-the-art hostel accommodation to girl students within the campus. The girl’s hostel has a full-time warden, recreation facilities, a reading room, power backup, and Internet access among other facilities. Privately owned and maintained boys' hostel abetting the college campus is being encouraged to provide the necessary residential services for boys.
Transportation:To facilitate the students from town to College Campus runs 5 no of buses are plying. In addition to this, a number of Private buses & Public Transport are available from Rayagada town to reach the institute every 5 minutes. Apart from this college is providing a weekly trip to town for boarders for shopping and entertainment. The college also provides emergency vehicle facilities for boarders in case of medical treatment.
Some Other Facilities of Gandhi Institute of Science and Technology (GIST), Rayagada are:Regular training classes are conducted, on campus, at the Digital English Language Lab to improve the communication skills of students. With a focus on Campus Recruitment, special training classes are conducted in association with professional training institutes and specialists in personality development, etiquette, grooming, etc.
On-campus training for competitive exams like GRE, GATE, CAT, etc is also offered.
In order to bridge the gap between the university curriculum and industry needs, the college offers various short-term training programs. These programs include CAD / CAM, J2JEE, VLSI & Embedded systems.
