Admission 2024-25
GATES Institute of Technology offers a B.Tech course in five specializations for the duration of four years. Admission is given to only those who have qualified Andhra Pradesh Engineering, Agriculture, and Medical Common Entrance Test (AP-EAMCET) conducted by the Government of Andhra Pradesh.
Admission to B.Tech 2nd year through Lateral Entry is given on the basis of candidates’ merit in Andhra Pradesh Engineering Common Entrance Test (AP-ECET) conducted by APSCHE.

GATES Institute of Technology B.Tech Admission for 2024
GATES Institute of Technology offers a four-year B.Tech program in five specializations. Admission is granted only to candidates who have cleared the Andhra Pradesh Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (AP-EAMCET) conducted by the Government of Andhra Pradesh.
Admission to the second year of the B.Tech program through Lateral Entry is based on the candidates' merit in the Andhra Pradesh Engineering Common Entrance Test (AP-ECET) conducted by APSCHE.
Key Points:
- 70% of the total seats in Category-A are allocated to candidates through AP-EAMCET, while the remaining 30% in Category-B are filled by the Management.
- 20% of the total seats in each branch are reserved for Diploma holders for direct admission to the second year of the B.Tech program through Lateral Entry.
- AP-EAMCET and AP-ECET are state-level examinations conducted by JNTU.
GATES Institute of Technology M.Tech Admission for 2024
The institute offers a two-year M.Tech program in four specializations based on candidates' performance in GATE or AP PGECET, followed by counselling.
Key Points:
- 70% of the total seats under the Convener Quota (Category-A) and the remaining 30% (Category-B) are considered under the Management Quota.
- Admission for Category-A is conducted through web counselling based on the candidates' rank in AP-PGECET or GATE score.
- Admission for Category-B seats is managed by the college in accordance with the guidelines of APSCHE, Hyderabad, and JNTU, Anantapur.
- AP PGECET is a state-level online entrance test conducted in May, and counselling is expected to be held in July.
GATES Institute of Technology MBA Admission for 2024
The institute admits students to the MBA program based on their AP ICET score, followed by their performance in a Group Discussion (GD) or Personal Interview (PI). Preference is given to candidates who have qualified in other National or State-level entrance exams such as CAT, MAT, XAT, or CMAT.

3. Fill in all the required details accurately.
4. Submit the application form along with the necessary documents by post.
5. Pay the application fee either by Demand Draft or Cash.

Residential Accommodation:
GATES Institute of Technology, Anantapur Separate boys' and girls' hostels with high security are available on the university campus. The Girl's hostel is located in Gooty town, not very far from the campus, in an area of one-acre green and pleasant premises. The college Correspondents family lives in the same compound and our Correspondent, Mrs. V. K. Padmavathamma always encourages and advises students with motherly affection. There is a female warden to address all the needs of the female students. There is a small store within the premises for the basic needs. Transport is provided to and fro from the campus. Boy’s Hostel is located within the campus and can accommodate up to 250 students.
Library
GATES Institute of Technology, Anantapur The Central Library at Gates Institute of Technology embraces the vision and mission of the Institute by providing maximum access to relevant, authoritative, and scholarly resources to all its members which include students, teaching and non-teaching staff. Central Library is a spacious and well-ventilated facility. Along with the central library, there are independent departmental libraries which support research and teaching.
To cater to the needs of Students and the Faculty, the Central Library is equipped with about 43,368 volumes and about 2542 Titles covering the core subjects as well as general subjects. The library is subscribing to e-journals, and National, International Journals and Magazines. All the books in the library are bar-coded and barcode laser scanners are used at the circulation counter.
Transport
GATES Institute of Technology, Anantapur operates 21 buses to turn the everyday journey to and from the college into a pleasant and convenient one for its students and faculty. Out of 21 buses, 6 come from Ananthapur, 6 from Guntakal, 4 from Tadipatri 2 from Gooty RS and Gooty,1 from Pattikonda, and 1 from Dhone. All the buses are very well maintained and strict instructions are given to the drivers not to exceed the speed limit of 60 Kilo Meters per hour.
Cafeteria
GATES Institute of Technology, Anantapur has a spacious and clean canteen to cater to the needs of students and staff. This well-appointed canteen can accommodate nearly 250 members at a time. The canteen serves delicious, nutritious and hygienic food. Breakfast, Lunch, Snacks, and hot and cold beverages. Food in the canteen is served at reasonable prices. Lots of variety is available in the canteen, including Chinese. Non-vegetarian varieties are served weekly on select days. The canteen remains open on all working days.
Placement
Training and Placements cell @ Gates acts as a bridge between the Institute and the Industry. The main objective of this cell is to provide appropriate training to the students make them industry-ready and arrange campus interviews for final-year students. The training and placement cell is headed by Mr. A. RamaPrathap Reddy.
