The college is popularly known to the people of Kadapa District as Government Arts College and later renamed  Govt. College for men. As the college is about to complete 60 years of service as a yeoman on the noble course of education, it is appropriate to look back on its beginnings, its growth and its contribution to the people of Kadapa district in particular and the country in general for 6 decades.

Residential Accommodation

Separate boys' and girls' hostels with high security are available on the university campus. Boys and girls have two hostels with Wi-Fi services for UG and PG, which can accommodate about 150 students each with good infrastructure. A well-equipped gym is established so that the students of the inn develop the physical ability of boys and girls. They also have indoor play facilities. A hygienic mess is attached to the hostels. The Library

The Central Library of our college was established in 1952. The college library is located in the main building and is accessible to students of all classes and members of teaching and non-teaching staff. It is a two-storey building, but the stack area is kept on the ground floor which caters to the needs of all sections of the students, faculty and also the elite of Kadapa in and around.  A big furnished ventilated separate Reading Room is located on the Western side of the central library and the well-furnished separate reference section is located in the main building.

Laboratories

This facility of this college creates a teaching and learning environment where participants can interact, communicate, view and discuss presentations and interact with learning resources while working as a team, all in an online environment. The setup allows video-conferencing applications that enable multiple users to be connected at the same time through the Internet, which allows students to interact with teachers from other institutes globally.  This room also provides all the necessary facilities for ICT-based teaching.

The Department of Physical Education is established in the year 1948. It is consisting adequate facilities for Games and Sports on 10 acres of land around the College building. The playfields Volleyball, Kabaddi, Basket Ball, Foot Ball, Badminton and also 400 meters track is available for regular practice. Indoor Games like Caroms, Chess and Sixteen Station Gym for men and Fitness items for women are also available.
