About Government Degree College, Nandikotkur

The college has the distinction of its construction on the slopes of the ‘Nallamalai Mountains’ and very close to the Sangameswaram temple, where seven rivers merge with the great river Krishna. The city is surrounded by nine Nandi (bulls) which were erected by the rulers of Kakathiya. One of the three rare  Sun God temples in India is located at Nandikotkur and was built by the Chalukya kings. The town has derived its name from Nandikotkur because of the local deity Nandikotkurramma’.The rare species at the Great Indian Black Bustard Sanctuary are worth a visit for those interested in the study of birds.

The hostel is on campus. 32 living rooms can accommodate 5 students in each bedroom, equipped with a desk, chair and wardrobe. There are sufficient toilets, bathrooms and sinks with running water. There is a beautiful chapel also in campus to meet the spiritual needs of the inmates

The Library

Government Degree College, Nandikotkur has its excellently equipped library housed in a second-storeyed building. It is adequately ventilated and furnished with a congenial academic ambience. The requirement of the day is computer Education. Our computer lab has 49 systems and provides knowledge and experience to our students all the time. The lab is open even after college hours providing opportunities for interested learners to practice and become masters in computer operations. Students utilise the Internet facility to download and prepare for their teaching practicals and use the Net for Powerpoint preparation.
