Government Degree College Marripalem, affiliated to Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, is notable for being the first tribal women's college in the ITDA area. Initially the college was located at Government Degree College, Chintapalli. But during the 2014-2015 academic year, the college moved to its permanent location at Downuru Marripalem situated on a 6.03-acre campus in Mulapeta Panchayat.
