H.P.T Arts College was established in 1924 under the aegis of the Gokhale Education Society founded in 1918 by the late Principal T.A. Kulkarni. He was inspired by the great statesman, educationist, social reformer, visionary and patriot Namdar Gopal Krishna Gokhale G.E. Society has successfully established itself as a lead & quality Educational Institution. It is probably the only Society managed solely by teachers. It fulfills its academic mission and goals through 95 institutions spread in Nashik, Ojhar, Nashik Road, Sinnar, Sangamner, Jawahar, Bordi, Kosbad, Talasari, Borivali, Parel, Girgaon &Shrivardhan.

Infrastructure and Facilities

Library:
The G. E. Society's HPT Arts & RYK Science college library known as the  “Bhausaheb Vartak Library” was established in the year 1924 to support the academic and extra-curricular objectives of the college.

The objectives of the library are:

To participate effectively in the college program as it strives to meet the reading and information needs of students, teachers, and ex-readers.

Provide the students with services and reading material to enable them to use the library for referring to textbooks, reference books, Journals, and online resources for independent study.

Provide services and reading material to the teaching faculty of the college to enable them to use the library for preparing lectures, continuing education, and research.

Provide orientation, user education, and reference service to the teachers and students to maximize the use of the library.

To support the extra-curricular activities conducted by the college.

Gym:
While academic excellence has been the main goal of our educational efforts, for the years, the participation and performance in sports, cultural activities, extra-curricular activities, and military training, have also received due and minute attention from the authorities of the college. Sports events like cricket, badminton, table tennis, athletics, etc. are held at the college level. The college Gymkhana organizes various sports activities. The spacious playground is the attraction of the college. A well-equipped gymnasium is the pride of the college gymkhana. College Gymkhana also organizes interclass competitions for all interested students. The teams are selected from the interested best players to represent the college in intercollegiate tournaments. The selection of teams is usually notified by the notice from the sports department. Participation in sports keeps the students physically fit and develops sportsman spirit which is very important to lead a happy life. Those students who participate in university teams are entitled to the ordinance-163 (grace marks).

Auditorium:
The college has Auditorium Hall measuring 7839 sq. feet. This hall is named Kusumagraj Hall. The hall is used for various functions & indoor games.

Seminar Hall:
The college has two seminar halls for conducting functions as well as for conducting Meetings.

Competitive exam Centre:
The reading room is equipped with a large number of competitive examination books such as current affairs, General knowledge, periodicals, Newspapers, etc. It has been set up with competitive exam books like UPSC, MPSC, and Banking examinations. Students who would like to prepare for the MPSC, UPSC, Banking, and Staff Selection Commission, and other examinations can register their names in the center. Students are always encouraged to use this facility.

Sports Facilities:
The College has a playground and overall maintenance of the Gymnasium is done by support staff appointed by the Department of Physical Education. Grounds are cleaned and maintained regularly by peons and students from the “Earn and Learn” scheme. The spacious playground is the attraction of the college. Sports events like cricket, badminton, table tennis, athletics, etc. are held at the college level.

Laboratories:
The college has set up a language laboratory for learning English. The laboratory has been equipped with lingua phone English language software. The students of the Department of English Functional English use it regularly and improve their accent/pronunciations and learn to speak English fluently. Students interested in improving their English, and improving their fluency in speaking English can join the laboratory.

Placements

Details of career guidance available in an academic year:

The main aim of the cell is to make the overall development of the students enrolled in the college every year.

Students are supposed to register at the beginning of the academic year.

We regularly arrange lectures and demonstrations on various subjects such as “how to face interviews”, “industrial requirements” etc

Teachers/ faculty members from our college and neighboring colleges as well as renowned experts from various reputed industries are called to guide the students.

Expert lectures on improving spoken and written English are organized by the cell.

To groom all the students not only from rural but also from the urban area; the cell guides all respect to all the students such as dressing sense, communication skills (English as well as Marathi), industrial environment, day-to-day life etiquette, etc.

Student improvement is tested by mock interviews by the expert committee.

The main target of the cell is to provide jobs for every desired student of HPT Arts and RYK Science College.
