GIDC Degree Engineering College (GDEC) at village Abrama, Taluka: Jalalpore, District: Navsari, a joint venture of Govt. of Gujarat and GIDC was established in 2012. The institute is managed by GIDC Education Society, Gandhinagar with the sole aim of providing quality education to the students of rural and tribal areas near Navsari District in the field of Engineering and Technology. The institute is a Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode institution approved by AICTE, New Delhi, and affiliated to Gujarat Technological University, Ahmedabad, and offers five undergraduate degree programs in Automobile, Civil, Computer, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering.

Mechanics of Solids Lab :

The mechanics of the solids lab is well equipped to meet the requirement of the practical experiments prescribed by Gujarat Technological University, Ahmadabad. A universal testing machine (UTM) is installed to study the compressive and tensile stress and also the hardness of materials.

Elements of Civil Engineering :

The civil lab is well equipped with all the instruments required for surveying, compasses to read ground leveling, models to construct economical and material houses, and to study materials suitable for houses to safeguard from natural hazards.

Physics Lab :

EEE lab is well equipped with all the experiment sets up such as Ohm’s Law verification kit, Kirchhoff’s current law (KCL), and Kirchhoff’s voltage Law (KVL) verification kit are present. The lab is also equipped with instruments like megger, all types of resistive inductive and capacitive loads are present for performing R-L-C ckt. It also includes all types of wattmeter, frequency meters, power factor meters, clip-on meters, D.C supply boards, etc.

Element of Electrical Engineering:

The Institute is having well-furnished Laboratory accompanied by fresh air and modern teaching techniques and tools to facilitate the teaching and learning process in a conductive manner - excellent support for discussions, and presentations for analysis of the theoretical talent of technocrats.

The lab is equipped with well-designed models of boilers, air conditioning systems, mounting and accessories of IC engines, two strokes, and four strokes.
