Global Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Udham Singh Nagar GIPER courses are offered at various levels like Pharmacy Degree i.e. Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm.), Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) and many more. You can also find a brief overview of the different courses offered by the university across various disciplines with their specializations on the Course page.

Class Room

Institute has well-furnished, CCTV-secured classrooms for D.Pharm, B.Pharm, and M.Pharm courses.

PHARMACEUTICS LAB

Pharmaceutics is the discipline of pharmacy that deals with all facets of the process of turning a new chemical entity (NCE) into a medication able to be safely and effectively used by patients in the community. Pharmaceutics deals with the formulation of pure drug substances into a dosage form. Branches of pharmaceutics include the study of the relationship between drug formulation, delivery, disposition, and clinical response.

PHARMACEUTICAL CHEMISTRY LAB

The Pharmaceutical Chemistry lab is the backbone of the institute. It deals with the study of compounds’ structure, synthesis, identification, and characterization. The laboratory is equipped with sophisticated instruments like HPLC, UV-Visible Spectrophotometer (Double Beam), KF Titrator, Flame Photometer, Rotary Evaporator, Digital Viscometer, Polarimeter, Conductivity meter, pH Meter, MP Apparatus, Colorimeter, Flourimeter, Refractometer, etc.

H.A.P LAB

A separate laboratory is provided for this department. The main objective of this laboratory is to provide deep knowledge of body parts and the therapeutic effects of drugs on various tissues and organs of the body. Several minor experiments are conducted on human blood, determination of B.P Hemoglobin, Bleeding Time, E.S.R., D.L.C, and T.L.C., and detection of blood groups which provide the knowledge about health education and first aid in an emergency.

PHARMACOGNOSY LAB

Plant materials are used both in developed and developing countries as home remedies, over the counterdrug products. Since ancient times plants have been the source of natural products and in today’s scenario, several of them are model drugs for synthetic products. This lab is meant for the extraction, isolation, purification, and identification of active chemical constituents from medicinal plants. The lab is equipped with modern equipment and instruments like Soxhlet extractors, compound microscopes, rotary evaporator, IR moisture balance, laminar air flow bench, etc. The lab also has a good collection of crude drugs and their herbariums. At the end of the lab course, students are able to interpret the morphological and anatomical descriptions of the crude drugs and sound in terms of screening plants for drug discovery.

PHARMACEUTICAL ANALYSIS LAB

Pharmaceutical Analysis is one of the most important specialized branches of Pharmaceutical Sciences concerned with the Quality Control of Pharmaceutical Products. The pharmaceutical analysis provides information on the identity, purity, content, and stability of starting materials, excipients, and active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). A distinction is made between the analysis of the pure active ingredients used to cure, alleviate, prevent, or identify illnesses and diseases (active ingredient analysis) and the analysis of medicinal preparations.

MICROBIOLOGY LAB

The Laboratory of pharmaceutical chemistry is one of the central important branches of the institute. It is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities to undertake academics in the Bachelor of Pharmacy course. In this lab, students learn about the synthesis of pharmaceutical compounds, their re-crystallization (purification) identification, and analysis. Laboratory Microbiology deals with the study of micro-organisms and is one of the fastest-growing areas of science. The organisms are so small that they must be viewed with a microscope. These organisms are primarily bacteria, yeasts, molds, and viruses. The air-conditioned lab of the institute is well equipped with a laminar airflow, incubator, autoclave, hot air oven, etc. equipped with modern instruments like HPLC, U.V. spectrophotometer and polarimeter, etc.

CADD LAB

A well-equipped CADD (Computer-Aided Drug Design) laboratory has been established to motivate young researchers toward computational drug discovery. A powerful workstation with the latest art of drug design and discovery research software’s available with us. Faculties and students are involved in the area of QSAR, Drug Design, Molecular Docking, Scoring Function Analysis, Property Calculation, Combinatorial Library Generation, Computer Aided Drug Delivery, and Screening of hits and Leads.

Instrumentation Room

"Laboratory instrument" is a general term for all kinds of instruments, vessels, and other tools needed for operations in various laboratories, synthesis, and analysis. Laboratory Instruments are exposed to some extreme chemical and physical influences and must simultaneously provide accurate measurement results, must have a long life, and provide safety for the user. Therefore, laboratory instruments have to have high quality and be durable in order to meet the high standards in laboratory technology.

Computer Center

The computer center at GIPER is equipped with the latest computers and software that are crucial for the practice of pharmacy. A 1:10 computer-to-student ratio ensures that the students get adequate computer exposure. The computer center has high-speed internet connectivity ensuring that the students have access to e-mail, research publications, and websites of interest. The center is open at students’ convenience and in their spare time.

Library

The college library has been recently renovated and has now a beautifully illuminated, well-ventilated, and furnished reading hall. The college library which caters to all the subjects with more than 5000 books is one of the largest collections of books on Pharmacy in the state and is being continuously enriched with recent publications. The library subscribes to more than 15 national and international journals and a number of pharmacy magazines and journals.

The library is powered by KOHA LMS and offers the following services-

1. Book bank facility

2. Reference book service

3. Reading hall service
