Govt. The College of Engineering was established on March 1, 1983. The college has the pleasure of being located in the banana/tribal area of Chhattisgarh. Jagdalpur Government College of Engineering has successfully completed its tenure of 35 years. The college, which aimed to introduce the youth of the Bastar region to the field of technology, not only achieved a milestone after 35 years in the tribal-dominated Bastar region, but the exhibition was also a complete success in its purpose.

Hostel

GEC JDP has excellent residential facilities to cater to the needs of over 500 students. There are two hostels for boys and a hostel for girls. Each guest house has a TV, sports equipment, water coolers and well-equipped meeting rooms. The hostel inmates are forced to join the riot in their hostel, which is led by a committee of student representatives. All the hostels have a separate mess where vegetarian food is available.
