Government Engineering College Patan was established in April 2004 with three branches Computer Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering each with an intake of 60 totaling 180. The institute was initially functioning on the premises of the K. D. Polytechnic, Patan temporarily. It was shifted to its own newly built up green premise in August 2008 at Katpur village on Chanasma- Patan road 8 km before Patan. Two more branches of Electrical Engineering and Civil Engineering each with an intake of 60 were introduced in June- 2009. The intake of Electronics and communication was reduced to 30 and Mechanical Engineering was reduced to 90 in 2020. Currently, the institute has a total intake of 360.

HIGHWAY ENGINEERING Lab

The laboratory of Highway engineering in the civil department is well equipped with all the required instruments and equipment that are helpful in the overall understanding and practical knowledge of a student. We have all the instruments such as Marshall Stability, CBR, Los angles abrasion instrument, etc.

Advanced Computational and Measuring Lab

The primary aim of the Advanced computational and Measuring Laboratory is to reflect the importance of computational and Measuring tools and techniques and, also keep the challenge promoted by the students and Faculty Members during the Research and Development work on Advanced instruments. 2

APPLIED ELECTRONICS LABORATORY

Students can learn the following subjects in this LAB: Electronics Devices & Circuits, Circuits, and Networks, Analog Circuit Design, Design Engineering, Power Electronics Devices and Circuits, Electronics workshop, and Analog Circuit Design.

Power Electronics laboratory

Power Electronics laboratory is used with the course on "Power Electronics-I", "Power Electronics-II", and "Electrical Drives". This lab has Different power electronic modules (such as converters, Inverters, and choppers), Electrical Drive for the Induction motor, Electrical Drive for the PMSM motor, Digital Storage Oscilloscopes, signal generators, multimeters, IGBT Power Cards, Thyristor Power cards, Gate Driver Cards, etc. to carry out experiments.

ENVIRONMENT ENGINEERING Lab

The Environmental Engineering Laboratory in the Department of Civil Engineering provides good testing and teaching facilities. The Laboratory has sophisticated equipment to analyze pollution parameters in water and wastewater, soil, and air. The sophisticated instrument list includes a pH meter, Water bath, Muffle furnace, Nephelometer turbidity meter, High volume sampler, Autoclave, BOD incubator, Electronic balance, Conductivity meter, COD digester, and Exhaust gas analyzer.

CAD/CAM Laboratory

This Laboratory is equipped with a highly automated Computer numerical control Lathe and Milling machine and also has the Wire cut EDM as a nonconventional machine.
