WELCOME TO GEC Rajkot was established by the Government of Gujarat in the year 2004 with a vision to provide quality technical education to bring out technically competent, socially responsible, environmentally conscious, and ethically sound engineers in tune with India’s vision to transform the nation into a developed country. Institute is located opposite Kankot Village which is a 15-minute drive from Rajkot City. Rajkot is the central location of the Saurashtra and Kutch regions. This institute is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and is affiliated with Gujarat Technological University, Ahmedabad. Institute offers programs in Electronics & Communication Engineering, Computer Engineering, Instrumentation and Control Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Automobile Engineering, and Electrical Engineering.

The Central Library of Government Engineering College Rajkot is a key resource service in the institute, for the faculties & students of diversified technological areas. It is a separate two-story building (GF+FF) with a spacious area of 1172 sq. meters. It is located in the center of the campus which provides quick access to all stakeholders. Library provides a well-furnished and illuminated location with campus Wi-Fi enabled with CCTV surveillance Library provides an academic atmosphere by motivating the readers to have effective learning and associated activities.

Central Library is equipped with SOUL 2.0 Library Management Software. Soul 2.0 is state of art integrated library management software designed and developed by INFLIBINET Gandhinagar. All books are bar-coded with accession numbers and stacked as per diversified branches. All staff and student members have access to the library with bar-coded membership I-Card for the issuance of books.

A home away from home, the hostels at GEC-Rajkot is more than four walls and a roof.

They have been designed to provide a comfortable, safe, inclusive, and secure living even as they provide opportunities to form lasting friendships and ease the transition from hostel to college.

The hostel is administered by the rector and wardens appointed for each block by the Commissionerate of Technical Education (CTE), Gandhinagar. Admissions are given to students who are residing at least 30 km away from the hostel based on ACPC merit. Each hostel room is provided with beds, tables, chairs & cupboards. Other facilities shall be provided as and when the government deems fit.

Institute has an auditorium having a capacity of 300 students, which is used for placement activities like pre-placement talks, training, and placement guidance and counseling.

During placement, the industry needs a comfortable place to carry out interviews. Institute has two interview cabins that are used in campus placement exclusively.

Placement cells have one seminar hall with a capacity of 25 students.
