Government First Grade College Byndoor Udupi was established in 1983 by the Government of Karnataka under the Department of Collegiate Education. The college is established to make higher education affordable to the poor sections of society. It has a permanent affiliation with Mangalore University for BA (HEP and HEK), B.Com, and BBA programs. The college is recognized under the 2f and 12 (B) status of the UGC Act. The College secured a B Grade (CGPA of 2.05) in the first cycle of NAAC Accreditation in 2017. Currently, the college has an enrolment of 474 students pursuing BA, B.Com, and BBA programs. The college caters to the higher education needs of economically backward people. The demographic indicators show that more than 90% of the students belong to SC/ST and other backward classes, the majority of the students being girls.
