Government First Grade College Kuvempu Nagara was Established in 1996-97, Government First Grade College, Kuvempunagar, Mysore holds the distinction of being the first government co-educational college in the Heritage City of Mysore.

Accreditation and Ranking

The college was assessed and accredited with a ‘B’ Grade by the NAAC in 2007, and Re-accreditation with a B grade with a CGPA of 2.62 in 2015

Courses Offered

Government First Grade College courses are offered at various levels like Undergraduate Degrees i.e BBM (Marketing Management), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) The College provides hostel facilities for its students – a separate area for boys and girls. Hostel rooms are spacious and well-ventilated, and the washrooms are clean. There is a supply of 24 hours of drinking water in the hostel.

The college also has various student activities and clubs that aim at providing training to students in various skills such as personality skills, communication skills, and job skills and preparing students for various competitive exams.

The college also has a Women’s Cell that comprises the women faculty and students of the college. It organizes awareness programs on Women’s Empowerment, Health, Legal Issues, etc.

The Library of our College aims at developing a comprehensive collection of reading materials in Arts, Science, Commerce, and Management giving vital support to teaching and research in the College. The library has grown over the years to be one of the best college libraries in the region. College Library has 31,247 books and subscribes to over 25 print journals and magazines on various topics. Apart from this, the library has a growing section on digital learning resources in the form of CDs and DVDs (nearly 200). The Library uses e granthalaya software, a cloud version of an entire automation system for the library, to manage all its resources and services.
