Since its inauguration on 4th August 1961, by late prime minister Mrs. indira gandhi, the government girls&rsquo post-graduate college, rewa, (m.p.) has been moving from strength to strength. this college is the only educational institution of higher education exclusively for girls, with a hostel facility, in the Rewa district. the college is playing an active role in enlightening and empowering young women of this region. Since its inception in 1961, the strength of the college has increased from 26 to 5217 in the year 2018. after being accredited B+ in its 1st cycle by the peer team in 2005, a tremendous amount of work has been done by way of infrastructural development, technological gradation, curriculum upliftment, and faculty development, which resulted in the college being accredited with grade a in its 2nd cycle on 22nd Feb. 2017. the aim of the college is the acquisition, preservation, and transmission of knowledge in a way which promotes national and rational outlook with a scientific temper among the girl students of the region. the goal of the college also includes closer interaction between the institution and community in the interest of society.
