Government Mahakoshal Arts & Commerce, Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh was established in the year 1836 and is affiliated to Rani Durgavati Vishwavidyalaya under University Grants Commission. Though the college was later granted autonomy in the year 1992. The College has also been accredited NAAC Grade B.
This college was established and known as “Robertson College” in 1836. Its name was changed to “Mahakoshal College” in 1947. The college was bifurcated and the art college was named “Govt. Mahakoshal Arts” College” in 1962. Commerce stream was initiated and the name was again changed to – “Govt. Mahakoshal Arts and Commerce College” in 1983. The college is affiliated to “Rani Durgavati Vishwavidyalaya” under University Grants Commission. It was granted autonomy in 1992.
