Govt. Maharani Laxmi Bai Girls P.G.College (previously referred to as Govt. New Girls P.G.College) is one of the outstanding faculties in Indore within the Kila Bhavan (the Fort) which has an excellent ancient origin. The castle was built in 1860 through the Holkar State. The university became hooked up in 1963 and became shifted to the Fort in 1965 from a close-by college in which it was strolling considering its inception.

Facilities and Infrastructure

The institute has two wings of the hostel. Currently, Two wings have 27 residential rooms for the accommodation of 51 students along with beds, tables, chairs, fans, coolers, and wardrobes. A mess facility is available to the students. A telephone facility is provided to the students.

To upgrade their knowledge, students can make use of the books & Daily News Paper available in the hostel library.

A gym is available on the college premises for the students of the hostel along with carom-board and Chess. An LCD is also installed for their recreation and education.

The institute has a chamber to provide medical services to students and staff. A part-time doctor and a nurse volunteer their services to meet medical emergencies.

The Department of Sports has always been a very active department of the institute since 1963. The sports officers of the Department have been motivating the students throughout the year and have succeeded in bringing glory to the institute. The various sports activities carried out in the department have helped in developing the personality of the students such as patience, fellow feeling, sportsmanship, etc., and also helps in keeping them mentally and physically fit. For outdoor games, the grounds available are - a cricket ground, hockey ground, volleyball, kho-kho, kabaddi, and a 200-meter track. Students practice table tennis, chess, and wrestling in indoor facilities. The department organizes sports activities at district, divisional, and state levels on the college campus.
