Government Medical College (GMC) and Hospital (GMCH), Aurangabad is a medical school affiliated with the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS), Nashik. The college is recognized for medical education in India by the Medical Council of India (MCI), New Delhi. It was established in 1956 and is one of the premier medical institutions in the state of Maharashtra. Currently, the college admits 200 students per year for undergraduate  MBBS and about 120 students per year for various postgraduate courses. The college has an excellent training center for junior doctors, nurses, and medical arts and science BSc and PG paramedics. In 1956, the  College Library was founded together with the university.
