Government Medical College, Kota is situated at Rangbari Road, about 14 kilometers away from Kota junction railway station and about 10 kilometers away from the Rajasthan Roadways bus stand. Before March 1992, Except for the Kota division, every division of Rajasthan was having a Medical College. The long-awaited need for a Medical College in Kota division was fulfilled by the state government by making a decision for that purpose in 1992. The Govt. Medical College Kota came into existence in March 1992 and Dr. RL Ajmera, Professor of Physiology joined on 7th March 1992 as the first principal.
