Govt. Residential Women's Polytechnic, Yavatmal was established in 1994 with the primary aim to impart Technician Education exclusively to girls. Later, in 2018 the institute is renamed as ‘Govt. Polytechnic Yavatmal’ with the facility of co-education for both boys and girls. The Institute started three new courses (Civil Engg, Mechanical Engg, Electrical Engg) in 2019 to impart diploma-level technical education in diverse disciplines. The Institute provides quality manpower to the higher industries and service sectors.

Boys Hostel

The boy's hostel has a built-up area of 4552Sq.m a capacity of 180 students. Admissions to the hostel are given on the basis of merit as per the rules of admission to the diploma course. In the boys' hostel, there is room for students, one mess hall, a guest room, a gymnasium hall, and a reading room. The hostel mess is run by the students themselves on a cooperative basis. Other facilities such as the inverter, electric generator, cycle stand, etc. are available for students. Girls Hostel

The girl's hostel has a built-up area of 1036Sq.m a capacity of 54 Girls. Admissions to the hostel are given on the basis of merit as per the rules of admission to the diploma course. The girls' hostel having a 1036 Sq.M built-up area started in the academic year 2010-11 catering to the needs of 54 girl students. Both the hostel has been provided with 24-hour security. A new girls' hostel has a capacity of 50 girls, and the built-up area of 500 Sq.M. is proposed under the M.H.R.D. grant, and it has got administrative approval.
