Govind Ballabh Pant Institute of Engineering & Technology, Pauri Garhwal (Formerly called Govind Ballabh Pan Engineering College) is an Institute with the complete commitment to excellence and excellence in academics. The Institute was founded in 1989 as an autonomous entity that was created to meet the increasing need for skilled professionals. The Institute is one of top institutes offering technological education within the State of Uttarakhand.

The Institute began its first academic session in 1991 to 1992 with a small intake. The Institute was affiliated to the Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University, Srinagar (Garhwal). In the academic year 2006-2007, the institution was affiliated with the Uttarakhand Technical University, Dehradun every year and being disaffiliated from H.N.B. Garhwal University. In the year 2012-2013, the university became completely independent.

M. G. Auditorium

The auditorium of the institute is state-of-the art called Mahatma Gandhi. M. G. Auditorium can accommodate approximately 500 people. It is a large auditorium that can accommodate around 500 people. M. G. auditorium is a multi-purpose concert hall that has fantastic audio-visual quality and an inviting and warm atmosphere. It is the ideal location to host non-academic and academic occasions like dance, musical and theatrical performances and video lectures, conferences, and lectures as well as other events. The goal of auditoriums is to improve their quality education. In order to achieve this auditoriums are equipped with amenities including LCD projectors whiteboards, and screens for the delivery of lectures. The auditorium is fully furnished, and equipped with modern projection and audio systems that connect via the Internet. The auditorium also offers ample opportunities the staff and students to show their skills in a variety of activities.

Central Library

The institution's pride is the large volume (30000) in the form of publications within the fields of Engineering, Applied sciences, Humanity and Management, and related areas of Indian and overseas publications. The Library is the center that every academic activity of the institute are centered. The library is subscribed to a variety of national and internationally renowned journals which include electronic journals through consortiums in the area of technology, as well as magazines covering current events and general interest, to keep students informed of developments in technology and events. The students can use the library's free access to publications and journals.

Hostels

The hostels are fully-equipped with electrical, sanitary and drinking water systems that are clean as well as internet facilities in every hostel. The housekeeping staff takes on the task of cleaning the hostels and each hostel is equipped with an in-house caretaker who caters to the day-to-day requirements that the host . In addition, the hostel caretaker, there is one common space in each hostel for use for any purposes like meetings in the hostel and gatherings with a HD LCD television. Also, a newspaper facility is accessible to students. one newspaper per room . Every hostel has a huge kitchen where vegetarian, clean and healthy food is prepared by hard-working and cooperative mess staff. The menu is created by the students and the food is cooked in accordance with the menu . We are very worried about the security and safety of the students. The hostels are secured round the clock and students are obliged to obey the rules of the hostel.

Computer Centre

The College has a central location to students in only one Hightech Computer center equipped with the following facilities:

A LAN that has 100 computers(8th generation i7 processor).

3 UPS(20kv each).

Bank & ATMs

Additionally, the College has an additional counter for the State Bank of India for offering Bank facilities to faculty and personnel and students. An effort are being made to set up the ATM facilities on campus.

Health Centre

The Infirmary that cares for the sick is open 24 hours a day and is staffed by both a male and female doctor who visits every day. It also maintains a a tie with the hospital of the government and pauri. The ambulance service is accessible 24 hours a day on the campus.

Guest House Complex

The College Guest House Complex has four guest houses that are fully equipped with accommodation, a meeting room and dining hall and communications facilities. The Guest Houses are thirteen fully-furnished rooms that are available within the guest houses.

Transport Service

The College is equipped with adequate transportation facilities that are utilized by staff, faculty and students. An ambulance service that is available 24 hours a day is available to inmates on campus in case of medical emergency situations. In addition college students are also provided with a medical ambulance. College also has its own tanker for water to facilitate the supply of water to help in an any emergency situation in the event of an interruption in water supply.

Sports Complex

Sports play a significant part in the student development and an importance is given to activities and games and .The College campus is equipped with tennis court, TT tables and a cricket pitch volleyball court, basketball court, to help students in enhancing their sports abilities and encourage physical fitness. Plans are created to send college students to participate in tournaments such as university tournaments for cricket, volleyball and football.

Post Office

The campus is home to an office for students and faculty and professors and villager's nearby as well as a campus shop that caters to general and stationary needs and an office for photocopying and PCO shop.
