Govind National College, Narangwal (Ldh.) is run by Patna Sahib Education Trust which was set up by Late S. Joginder Singh Grewal(PP Sahib) on Jan 25, 1966, under the inspiration from Sant Baba Gurdit Singh Ji, Kutia Sahib Wale. The foundation stone of the college was laid by Sant Baba Harbans Singh Ji on April 24, 1966. Since that day, this college has been spreading education in rural areas in science (Non-medical) and Humanities upto degree classes.

Library

The College has a well-stocked library consisting of more than twenty-four thousand books with an INFLIBNET facility. For making the best use of the library, the following rules are to be adhered to:-

1. Books from the library will be issued only for 14 days, after that a fine of Rupee 1 per book per day

will be charged.

2. Each U.G. student can be issued 4 books and P.G. Student 6 books at a time.

3. If a student loses, defaces or mutilates a book, he/she has to replace the book or pay double the cost

of that book. If a book is rare and is not easily available, he/she will have to pay the price fixed by the

principal.

4. An issued book may be recalled at any time at the discretion of the librarian.

5. While using the library, the students are required to maintain complete silence and discipline.

6. A Student can draw a prescribed textbook in the subjects of Punjabi, Hindi, and English on depositing

his/her identity card However the book has to be returned on the same bay.

7. Students can get Photostat copies of important articles for nominal charges.

8. Magazines, Journals, etc. cannot be issued. Students can read these in the library only. 

Hostel

Excellent hostel facilities exist both for boys and girls separately. The hostel rules are to be followed strictly. 

Computer Facilities

The Department of Computer Science and Applications provides computer facilities to all the students and faculty members. The department is equipped with the latest infrastructure. There are four high-tech computer labs equipped with systems of the latest configurations, Scanners, Smart boards, Projectors, etc. Almost all Computers are equipped with access to the Internet.

Physical Education And Sports Facilities

The college has well-maintained extensive playgrounds for Volleyball, Handball, Hockey, Lawn Tennis, Table Tennis, Badminton, basketball, and athletics. There is also the facilities of a shooting range and sports auditorium and Gymnasium on the college campus.

The College holds an annual athletic meet every year. Prizes are awarded to the winners. There are well maintained playgrounds. A well-equipped gym, Shooting Range, and Indoor Sports Auditorium. In addition to academic and physical activities, the college provides facilities for other co-curricular activities. Educational tours are also arranged for the students every year. Guru Gobind SINGH Study circle is also established for the students to inculcate religious, moral, and ethical values in them.

The college has a well-furnished canteen which provides a variety of clean and hygenic eatables at reasonable price

Scholarship

The students will have to submit their fee concession form and required documents (income certificate, caste certificate etc.) at the time of admission. Applications for fee concession on the prescribed form will be sought for at the beginning of the session. The prescribed form can be submitted to the principal office.

Late S. Daleep Singh established a trust named 'Student Welfare Fund' in the memory of his father S. Uttam Singh by depositing a sum of Rs. 12,000/- in SBoP, Narangwal. The Principal of the college is authorized to distribute the interest earned on the sum to the needy students.

2. Sardarni Surjit Kaur Memorial Fund:

Principal Kundan Singh (Retd.) set up a fund, named 'Sardarni Surjit Kaur Memorial Fund' in the memory of his wife by depositing a sum of Rs.l0,000/ in SBoP, Narangwal. The Principal of the college is authorized to distribute the interest earned on the sum to the needy students.

3. LT. General Gurbachan Singh Buch Memorial Medal:

LT. General Gurbachan Singh Buch's son S. Daljeet Singh declared to give two Silver Medals to those

who secure first positions in the university Exams. 

4. Satwant Singh Virk Frijano USA has started three scholarships which are given in cash to three students Every year. These scholarships are reserved to distribute among Sports, Academic and needy students of the college.

6. Professor Dr. Sashipal (Retd. From our college)has started a scholarship of Rs.1100/- in memory of 'Late Sh. Roshan Lal and Sh. Vijay Miglani' which is granted to a hard-working and needy student. In this regard, Dr. Sashipal has submitted Rs. 21.000/- to the college. 

7. Smt. Gurminder Randhawa U.K. has arranged four scholarships every year.

8. S.B.S Gill VPO Bulara has established a fund in the name of 'Dr. Amandeep Singh Grewal and a Scholarship of Rs. 1100/- is given from this fund.

9. Dera Nim Wala village Narangwal has declared a sum of Rs. 5,000/- for those who have high achievements 'in the field of sports.

10. From Session 2011-12, the following scholarships have been started for needy and hardworking
