The Model Engineering College is the first college affiliated with the Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT). With a history of only two decades, it has become an institution to be reckoned with in the field of technical education in the country. The Library of Model Engineering College has acquired a good collection of books and journals in the fields of electronics, computer science, biomedical engineering, and related subjects such as science, mathematics, and management. The library has about 28,900 books and 70 periodicals. The books are classified according to the Dewey Decimal Classification Scheme and cataloged under Anglo-American Cataloging Rules II with local variations. The library provides information services such as up-to-date information services, selective information dissemination services, reference services, bibliographic services, etc. The amount of Rs. 50 lakh has been allocated for the modernization of the library under the TEQIP project.
