Grace International Academy (GIA) is an undergraduate college affiliated with the University of Kerala, which started functioning in May 2019. Grace International Academy is run by Palakunnathu Foundation. Palakunnathu Foundation is a family trust and the family has a history of serving the public for more than 150 years. Originally from Maramon- a town on the banks of river Pamba, the most illustrious person of the family was Abraham Malpan( 1796-1845). He was a social and religious reformer who changed the way Christians lived during the 18th century. People who believed in his philosophy had to face a lot of opposition from the conservatives within the church which led to the birth of a new church called the Marthoma Church, which today has a membership of more than 1.6 million population across the world.

Grace International Academy Infrastructure and Facilities:

The special atmosphere at Grace Academy is partly due to the unique property. This beautiful 12-acre campus now houses 14 classroom/office buildings, and the long-term campus master plan includes an amphi theatre, residential facilities for students and faculty members, Tennis courts, basketball courts, and expanded athletic fields. Nestled in the foothills of the western ghats, the campus offers a panoramic view of the hills and greenery around. Musavarikunnu is one of the many hills in this town that is known as the “ land of the whispering hills” The campus has a bamboo garden and Nakshtravana has all 27 trees from the almanac.

Library

The library will be the focal point of the institution. Ideally, the library should be in the center with schools around it. Good selection of books and magazines on management as well as other subjects. The total size of the library in the initial phase will be smaller but will be equipped with both online and offline resources.

Scholarship

Grace International Academy as an Institution believes that a better society is possible only if there is a space for the less privileged to access higher education.. Higher education is increasingly being seen as the fortress of the rich. And in order to address the issue, the Institution provides fee concessions and full fee waivers to meritorious students. The institution also will work closely with philanthropists who will participate in sponsoring students who are meritorious but economically backward. Students who require these scholarships need to apply in a prescribed form to the office with relevant documents at the time of taking admission.

The office will scrutinize the documents and after verification, will recommend the selected names to the management. Management will decide on the type and percentage of fee concession to be given. In addition to the scholarships which are given by the college, there are the following scholarships given by various other agencies. College is recognized by the Human Resources Development Ministry of the central government to get these scholarships.

The school runs a fleet of buses in routes decided by the college to pick up and drop students at designated locations.
