Govindram Seksaria College of Commerce was established at Wardha, on 14th July 1940 under the inspirational guidance of Shri. Jamnalal Bajaj, the founder of Shiksha Mandal. It is the first Commerce institution affiliated with RTM Nagpur University which has the privilege of being inaugurated by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Since its inception, it is ranked as the only educational institution which not only includes National Thinking but also has the credit of receiving the blessing and guidance of great personalities like our Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi and other Dynamic National Leaders. The well-known Gandhian thinker Late Acharya Shrimmanarayan was its first principal. In the freedom struggle of 1942, the principal lecturers and students voluntarily participated and contributed wholeheartedly. The college offers education in higher Management Science along with Commerce education. The college has produced quality students who have excelled at the National & international levels due to the extensive and excellent library facility, wide playground, highly qualified teaching staff, and excellent teaching aids.

The computer Lab. is equipped with over 25 personal computers adequately supported by broadband for internet connectivity. It provides a competitive advantage to the institution in its core areas of education and research. State-of-the-art hardware and software ensure high quality and uninterrupted service to keep students abreast of developments in IT and other sectors. There is an LCD projector and two OHP projectors to support presentation and teaching. The computer Lab. is also equipped with a wide range of Licensed System Software as well as Application Software & printers.

The DAMS library is a hub of a vast wealth of knowledge spacious library. The Library has a rich collection of books, journals – national and international, annual reports, audio, video collection, CDs, VCDs, Management Games, and Newsletters The collection of over 3900 books covers all aspects of business and management, and also related areas like Economics, Behavioral Science, Information Technology, Law, Commerce, etc. this collection is being continuously updated. The periodical section has adequate business journals and is a vital source for academic research and up-to-date business information. In addition to the above journals, 15 newsletters are available for student reference.

Hostel

Hostel facilities at , for students of the residential programs, consist of two hostel blocks with more than 30 rooms in total. Every hostel room has access points linking it to the campus-wide network and the various network resources and services.

Faculty Residence

In its pursuit of excellence in modern management education, DAMS has – right at its inception – recognized the need for faculty members to stay on campus. This facilitates interaction between faculty and students even beyond the academic work hours. There is a dedicated block of spacious quarters, which houses some of the eminent faculty members.
