Guru Nanak College, affiliated to Punjabi University, Patiala (listed in 12(b) & 2(f) sections of UGC Act 1956) is situated on the outskirts of Budhlada city - a small town of district Mansa in Punjab. To tribute to the 500th birth anniversary of "Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji", it was started in 1971 by some eminent personalities of the region to keep in mind the noble cause of making affordable education accessible to all the people of this backward, rural, and remote area. In the beginning, it was functioning under the local management but later on handed over to SGPC (Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, Sri Amritsar Sahib), an apex and philanthropic body of the Sikhs committed to serving humanity, on 09 November 1994 due to meager financial resources and some other executive problems.

Infrastructure

The college has a Computer center of Guru Nanak College that has got 250 computers of the latest configuration i-3 and i-5 Processor connected to LAN. It has got peripherals such as 10 printers, 4 CD writers, and 4 scanners. The computer center has LCD projectors for instructions. Computer Center has the following Software: Operating Systems: Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8, Red Hat Linux, etc.

The college hostel has 25 semi-furnished rooms having a capacity of 70 students. There is a cot, study table, chair, and cupboard for every student. The facility of Newspapers in three languages Punjabi, Hindi, and English are available for students around-the-clock internet connectivity through a Wi-Fi connection is available in the hostel. Round - the- Clock availability of security guards at the hostel gates ensures the safety of the students on campus. The identity of visitors is always cross-examined with guardians for the safety of the students. The hostel has continuous electricity and water supply including a hot water supply and provision of a water cooler with aqua guard filters.

The library of the college is well stocked with a good collection of books, journals, and other reading materials. The collection is augmented regularly according to the requirements of students and faculty. To facilitate a congenial atmosphere for reading, the library has been fully air-conditioned. The library subscribes to different scholarly journals catering to the multi-dimensional and ever-changing information needs of the users.

The college has an auditorium facility for events and seminars.

The college has a health center with a first aid facility for the students.

The college has sports facilities for all students. Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Indoor Sports Complex is meant for indoor games. But keeping in view its maximum utilization, it is specially built in such a way that it can be used as an auditorium as well as an indoor stadium. In this way, it is also used for conducting various functions like Prize Distribution, Convocation, Talent Hunt, and many other small and big events, etc.

The college has spacious two canteens separate for boys and girls, which can conveniently accommodate 250 students at a time in which a variety of eatables are available at most nominal rates. The canteens remain open on all working days. It provides all types of nutritious and hygienic eatables and beverages to cater to students, staff, and visitors. The canteen has a big kitchen and the kitchen staff takes extra care to provide the students and staff with nutritious and hygienic food in the campus canteen.

The institute provides a bus facility for students. Bus routes are distributed throughout the city for the convenience of students, College bus service is a pick-and-drop facility to the city's nearby villages. The college has 20 buses.
