Facilities and Infrastructure

Class Room Facility: A classroom is a learning space, a room in which both children and adults learn about things. The classroom attempts to provide a space where learning can take place uninterrupted by outside distractions. Total number of classrooms in GVM is 51. Classrooms at GVM facilitate a blend of traditional and modern modes of teaching with technological aids such as blackboards, green boards, and podiums for faculty.

Library Facility:

GVM College library is fully computerized. The library has provided a single-window search system to all E-Resources such as INFLIBNET (N-List), DELNET, and World-E-Book Library on the college website i.e. www.gvmgc.in. The library subscribes to a large number of electronic journals and books through these databases. The library is using Libsys version 10 integrated Library Management software. This is one of the latest software used by the cloud-based latest technology that enables the library to serve its users more efficiently. OPAC, Web OPAC, and Mobile App are the main tools to provide access to the library collection with the help of login ID and Password.

OPAC/Web OPAC, Mobile app can access through any terminal on the campus network and the library collection can also be searched through the college website. Bar code technology is used for the circulation of documents. Well-stacked shelves are enriched with more than 38,511 books of standard and quality. The library has subscribed to 20 newspapers, 110 magazines, and research journals as well as social and personal development of students, faculty, and staff.

Conference Room Facility:

GVM boasts of a state-of-the-art Conference Hall to discuss matters of common academic interests and concerns. This air-conditioned hall is provided for singular events and is furnished with an overhead Projector, lighting, and a high-quality sound system. This academic conference hall is an ideal venue for various events & seminars held in the college from time to time facilitating the students to access the best of information.

Seminar Room Facility: The air-conditioned seminar room, with a seating capacity of one hundred forty students, is equipped with audio-visual facilities along with recording facilities and an excellent sound system. It also features a projector screen, whiteboard, blackboard, and podium. The Seminar Room is used for holding seminars, group discussions, lectures, etc. It plays an important role in the teaching-learning process.

Hostel Facility: All the rooms in these hostels are well-furnished, well-lighted, and airy. Every room is shared by four girls and every girl has her own bed cupboard and a study table with chairs. RO water facility has been provided to the students for fresh drinking water and geysers in bathrooms for hot water facility in winter.

 Auditorium Facility:

Extensively used by the students for extra-curricular activities and for hosting functions of the College. It has an advanced light and sound system that is managed by specially designated support staff. It is equipped with a large stage, two green rooms, comfortable seating, carpeting, wall paneling for acoustic effects, washrooms, and a podium.

Canteen Facility:

The CANTEEN is the nucleus of college life, and keeping this fact in mind the college has two spacious and well-maintained canteens to cater to the needs of students as well as the members of the staff. To monitor the smooth functioning of the canteens, a canteen committee was constituted for the purpose keeps a regular watch on hygienic surroundings. The canteens serve light refreshments and a variety of snacks, as it is such a popular meeting place for students to tickle the taste buds of students, various changes are brought in the menu and snacks are made available to cater to their needs and desires.

Bank Facility:

The College has an on-campus branch of the State Bank of India to extend banking services to students and staff members.
