Harish Chandra Postgraduate College Varanasi is an Govt. assisted college and is the top places of study in Eastern U.P. under the aegis of Harish Chandra Vidyalaya Samiti (a non-profit charitable organization established under the Indian Society Act 1860.) Bharatendu Harishchandra who was the foremost and modern Hindi Language founded this institution with five students from the community in 1866. In 1910, the school had begun High School classes. The Intermediate Classes began in 1939.
