Infrastructure and Facilities
Library:
Central Library of the Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata (HITK), is the nerve center for all academic activities of the Institute. It is situated in the Central Building, spreading over approximately 20,000 sq feet. The library is centrally air-conditioned and equipped with computers and a communication network and has a seating capacity of 250 readers. This is equipped with CCTV, an Antitheft Solution system, and also with Wi-Fi connectivity. The library is computerized with LIBSYS library management software, with barcode technology. OPAC/WEB-OPAC facilities are available through the campus network and outside the campus. It is partially automated and is one of the most modern Engineering College libraries in West Bengal. HITK library comprises Departmental Libraries and also a fully equipped Digital Library.
Hostel Facilities:
Separate boarding and lodging facilities are available separately for outstation boys and girls.
Computer lab:
The Computer Centre has been set up as a centralized service center so that students can use this for various purposes, such as Programming, projects, Preparation of seminar materials, etc. The facility has more than 600 Terminals along with printers and an Internet Facility with a 200Mbps Leased line. A Central Computer Centre is exclusively available to the students for net surfing and online study. Besides, all post-graduate degree awarding departments have project laboratories for undertaking projects, research, and development works. All the computers are LAN connected with a 200Mbps leased line for 24 hours. All students are provided with unique email IDs for having time access to institute-related information. A Satellite Interactive Terminal (SIT), installed by ISRO and WBUT, with video conferencing facilities is also available.
Sports Facilities:
A common room, equipped with major indoor games facilities like Table Tennis, Carom and Chess is available. There are excellent facilities for outdoor games and sports like cricket, football, volleyball, basketball, golf, and swimming managed by a Sports Officer and a Swimming Instructor.
Health Care:
A medical unit is available on the campus besides arrangements with hospitals located nearby.
Cafeteria:
The Institute has an excellent cafeteria with a seating capacity for more than 200 persons. It has a well-planned hygienic kitchen run by a reputed caterer at administered prices. Admission
Heritage Institute of Technology is known for its flagship program of B.Tech which is offered in 9 specializations. For the B.Tech admissions at Heritage Institute of Technology, candidates are required to appear for the JEE Main or WBJEE entrance examination and participate in the counseling for final seat allotments. Heritage Institute of Technology charges a fee of INR 1.16 Lakhs per year for its B.Tech program.
