Hindu College of Pharmacy (HCP), one of the pioneers of the Institute in Pharmacy Education in Haryana was established in the year 1978 by “The Sonepat Hindu Educational and Charitable Society” with the vision to provide quality pharmacy education to students. It started as Diploma in Pharmacy in Haryana for providing education under the State Board of Technical Education, Panchkula Haryana. The college is approved by AICTE and PCI New Delhi. Later in the year 1995, the institute started a Bachelor of Pharmacy under affiliation with Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak, and in the year 2007, the institute started a Master of Pharmacy program. Currently, Bachelor of Pharmacy and Master of Pharmacy (Pharmaceutics) is affiliated with Pt. Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak.

The Institute owns about 2.16 acres of land and possesses lush green sprawling lawns, a sufficient number of classrooms with audio-visual aids, an air-conditioned conference room, faculty Rooms, a Director’s Office, Placement office, and other facilities such as a generator, internet & a good cafeteria for the students.

Facilities and Infrastructure

The system of teaching-learning in all the departments is backed by a computer lab designed especially to cater to the needs of students. It is built in strict accordance with AICTE specifications. The lab provided to the students facilitates access to information highways through the internet. The computer lab is air conditioned with the latest hardware and software utilities. The lab has a printer that comprises Laser Inkjet & Dot Matrix Printers.

The library provides a house of relevant books, reports, magazines, newspapers, newsletters, pharmacopeias, etc. It has a well-maintained collection of almost 2400 titles and 24000 pharmacy books. The institute has subscriptions to around 30 national and international journals with an e-journal subscription to DELNET. It has a reading hall with a capacity of around 100 students.

The conference room is well equipped with a public address system; facilitates course delivery through the use of audio-visual inputs from slide presentations to video clips and video lessons. It has a seating capacity of about 100 people for conducting seminars, workshops, conferences, and guest lectures.

The Institute has separate hostels for boys and girls. The hostel is well guarded by the institute’s own security. The seats are on a first come first serve basis. The mess is run on a cooperative basis by the mess committee of resident students and adheres to strict standards of hygiene.

A spacious and well-furnished canteen is available on the campus for the benefit of the students. A contractor-run canteen on campus offers lunch, snacks, tea, coffee & cold drinks at reasonable prices on all working days. It also provides them with some moments of relief within the framework of their day-long hectic schedules.

The college is having excellent indoor sports facilities and grounds for outdoor sports. Every year annual sports meet is organized. Students participate in various indoor & outdoor games regularly.

The placement cell in the college is very active in that they always maintain continuous interactions with the organizations, guides their students as per the requirements, and helps them secure job.
