HINDUSTAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY and SCIENCE (HITS), a reputable university, is a prestigious and recognized institution in India, located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Launched in 1985, it offers a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, research, and Doctorates in different fields engineering, technology, architecture, management, law, fashion, design and arts, aviation, applied sciences, allied sciences, and arts, and sciences.

Hindustan Institute of Science & Tech has separate hostels for boys and girls with well-appointed rooms and modern amenities. The general atmosphere is very conducive for students to focus on their studies. The hostels have well-appointed regular rooms with air conditioning and adjoining breakout rooms that provide a student-friendly environment. State–of–the–art kitchen and spacious dining area have been provided for both the hostels and a customized menu caters to the student’s needs. Hygiene and cleanliness are emphasized in the hostel. All hostels offer a variety of services and opportunities for students. Staff members residing in the hostel are responsible for dealing with students' academic and personal issues. Security, communication, and 24-hour dispensary services are also available.
The Hindustan Institute Technology & Science, Library system consists of a Central Library Departmental Libraries and HITS BookBank which collectively support the teaching, research, and outreach programs of the Institute. All students, teachers, and employees of the Institute can use the facilities of the library by registering as a member. Besides, the Library has a huge collection of books on Engineering, Science, and Humanities through its various divisions.
All Buildings are connected with Optical Fibre with Single and Multimode covering a distance of around 2000 meters. Laboratories, staff rooms, and offices are connected to the LAN and the Internet.
Medical Services and Health Center
The following medical services and facilities are available at Campus Clinica: Availability of doctors every working day. Availability of a personal nurse at the university campus 24 hours a day, every day.Observation room with 4 beds for the sick free medical examinations for students and staff. The possibility of drip is available for patients with dizziness, fever, etc.,
Banking / ATM Facilities
Indian Overseas Bank is situated within the University campus to cater to the banking needs of the students and staff. Indian Overseas Bank branch in Padur was inaugurated on 28th December 2012 in the new campus building of Hindustan University by Dr.Anand Jacob Verghese, Pro-Chancellor, Hindustan University in the presence of Mr. A.D.M.Chavali, Executive Director, Indian Overseas Bank, and M. K.Parthasarathy, Chief Regional Manager, Overseas Indian Bank.
The University is on the main arterial road to Chennai city. The University operates a fleet of 50 buses to all major locations in the city for the benefit of students and staff. University bus services are used for industrial visits and excursions. Comfortable, air-conditioned buses are also available.
COVID MARTYRS SCHOLARSHIP
Under this new scheme, the departments of COVID martyrs, who lost their lives to protect our countrymen during the COVID pandemic, will receive full exemption from registration fees in the discipline of their choice, after having satisfied the basic rules laid down, such as the marks in the qualification examinations, etc. All student expenses including travel, room, and board will be paid by HITS in addition to a monthly stipend during the course period.
COVID FRONTLINE WARRIOR SCHOLARSHIP
This new scheme is being introduced exclusively for the departments of physicians, healthcare professionals, government, and service personnel who participated in the protection of our compatriots during the COVID pandemic. The scholarship covers a period of two years in all courses for those who meet the established basic standards such as qualifying exam scores etc.
